IB full-diploma candidates take three (at most four) subjects at higher level and three (at fewest two) subjects at the standard level. Higher level subjects require a minimum of 240 hours over the two-year period, and standard level subjects require a minimum of 150 hours over the two-year period. At Signature School, this time distinction means little because HL courses and many SL courses occur over the same time interval. The exceptions are SL courses that occur over a one-year period: SL Computer Science, SL European History, SL Math Studies, and SL Mathematics. At Signature, the following choices are available to the IB full-diploma class of 2012:
